Document Description
The purpose of this project is to acquire an easement on a short section of an existing Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) trail named High Road. High Road is generally 12-15 feet in width and is a primary access route for OHVs, maintenance, and emergency vehicles within the granite soil area of the park. This route has been in existence and the use has not changed since the land was acquired and became a unit of the State Park System in 1975. A boundary survey was conducted and completed in 2014 which indicated that a short section of High Road traversed onto neighboring property for approximately 430 feet before returning back onto park property. Trail relocation is not feasible due to the ruggedness and remoteness of this part of the trail. The most appropriate course of action is to acquire an easement to allow for the existing use of this trail. The acquisition of the easement will not result in a change in use.
