Note: Review Per Lead The General Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs) for confined animal facilities (CAFs) within the SF Bay region are being revised. The permit will pertain to discharges from currently-operating CAFs, a small subset of facilities that may reopen within the footprint of a former CAF operation, and new CAFs. The WDRs only pertain to discharges from CAFs, and do not authorize construction of new CAFs or related facilities. Any construction activities would be subject to ordinary local land use regulations and related CEQA process. The WDRs only pertain to discharges from CAFs, and do not authorize construction of new CAFs or related facilities. Permittees, whose facilities meet the eligibility criteria would file a 1) notice of intent to comply, 2) prepare facility waste management plans, 3) implement management practices to reduce discharge, 4) report annually.
