Document Description
The SF Bay to Stockton navigation Improvement Study consists of two phases and two reaches. Phase I of the study evaluates incremental deepening of the Western Reach to a depth of -40 feet mean lower low water (MLLW). Phase II is a subsequent multi-purpose navigation and ecosystem restoration study that will evaluate deepening in Eastern Reach to a maximum depth of -40 feet MLLW as well as further deepening of the Western Reach to its authorized depth of -45 feet MLLW. The Draft EIS/EIR is anticipated to evaluate two Phase I action alternatives involving placement of dredged sediment at one or more permitted and economically viable beneficial reuse sites, and to evaluate Phase II at a programmatic level because of uncertainties associated with its scope, size, and other details.
