Note: Refer to NOC submitted on 6/5/2018. The South Coast Water District proposes to develop an ocean water desalination facility in Dana Point, CA, at Doheny State Beach.The desalination facility would produce up to 15 million gallons per day (MGD) of potable drinking water. The District intends to construct a facility with an initial capacity of up to 5 MGD, with potential for future expansions up to 15 MGD. Both the initial up to 5 MGD and ultitmate up to 15 MGD capacities would be available for the District and local water agencies to provide a high quality, locally-controlled, drought-proof water supply.
