Document Description
The project proposes to repair the heavily eroded Scenic Trail by installing water diversion / drains and repairing the steps. All hard structures will be made with redwood timbers. All drainage points will have rock armoring to reduce erosion. The steps near the stream crossing will be rebuilt using an interlocking timber design for stability. Excavation of about 24" will be required to ensure step consistency. The steps will have long rebar pins installed to hold them in place. Re-contouring of the trail tread will be required to provide out slope drainage where possible. In areas where the tread has become heavily entrenched, cut brush will be put into the erosion along with rocks to help catch sediment.
