Document Description
Caltrans proposes the existing Capell Creek bridge with a new bridge and install a series horizontal drains along Capell Creek as well as a geo-tech wall. The existing reinforced concrete bridge and steel girder bridge will be replaced with a pre-cast/pre-stressed l-girder bridge with cast in place/reinforced concrete bents on the existing alignment. A temporary detour bridge and associated road widening, install temporary access road to construct creek diversion, install horizontal drains, demolish existing bridge, remove creek diversion. Season 2: site preparation, install creek diversion system, construct bridge abutments and piers, construct bride deck and roadway approaches, shift traffic to proposed bridge, remove temporary detour bridge and remove creek diversion. Season 3; Site Restoration. The project is expected to result in incidental take of foothill yellow-legged frog (Rana boylii) a species listed as candidate threatened under CESA. The project is expected to cause the permanent loss of 0.010 acres of habitat for the Covered Species, and temporary loss of 0.524 acres of habitat for the Covered Species. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of the project implementation.
