The Regents of the UC Santa Barbara are requesting $1,000,000 from the Ocean Protection Council's Proposition 1 Water Quality, Supply, and Infrastructure Improvement Act of 2014. The funding will expand by 8 acres, the size of a current large scale restoration effort of the upper arms of the Devereaux Slough into a functional wetland system.
