Reasons for Exemption
The project involves minor alteration to an existing facility to meet current California Building code safety standards. The locations, dimensions, and materials proposed have been reviewed by the California Office of Historic Preservation to determine the project's effect on the Capitol's historical significant. Pursuant to Public Resources code Section 5024(f), Department of General Services received the State Historical Preservation Office's concurrence that the project will not adversely affect historical resources at the State Capitol.
