Conditional Use Permit Application NO. C-12-154 requests authorization to install a 100-foot tall SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) tower to allow telemetry control and monitoring communication between the Northeast Surface Water Treatment Facility, Water Division offices, water wells, and related water production and distribution facilities of the city. Beneficiaries include the City of Fresno Department of Public Utilities as well as residents, businesses, and institutions in the Fresno Metropolitan area, as well as users of the Fresno Sole Source Aquifer (SCADA control will facilitate in-lieu recharge and help prevent over drafting of the aquifer).
