Document Description
Emergency repairs are required due to an Aqueduct liner failure. Damaged panels will be removed, unsuitable soil will be excavated then backfilled and compacted with borrow material. New panels will be installed, covered with a geosynthetic liner, and sprayed with shotcrete. State Water Project users will benefit.

Reasons for Exemption
Emergency repairs are required due to an Aqueduct liner failure in Reach 13B, Pool 30, upstream of Buena Vista Pumping Plant (BVPP). Dewatering of Pool 30 began on January 2, 2016, and conveyance of water south of BVPP has ceased and cannot resume until repairs are complete. Crews are scheduled to work 24 hours a day, seven days a week until repairs are complete. Regulatory agencies have been notified.
