Document Description
It has been determined that this item is or may be highly reactive and or ignitable and must be stabilized prior to being transported offsite. The item is currently being stored in a 1-liter glass bottle at the Hexcel Facility in Dublin, California. Because Hexcel does not have a permit for the treatment of the hazardous waste, DTSC has determined as a safety precaution to prevent an accident or severe injury, an Emergency Permit should be issued to chemically stabilize the hazardous waste prior to transportation off site. This chemical stabilization will be performed by Clean Harbors Environmental Services (CHES). The treatment of the hazardous waste involves the addition of a solvent or water to the containers to reduce the reactive or ignitable characteristics of the chemical.
