Document Description
The City of Grover Beach will utilize approximately $1.5 Million in CDBG Funding to implement a water system improvement project throughout the city limits. The City's water system was installed over 75 years ago and was developed for a much smaller community with limited use. However, the community has significantly grown but with no real changes to the original infrastructure. The existing water lines are made of steel and consist mostly of 2" and 4" lines - which are outdated and no longer used in efficient water systems due to amount of corrosion and leaks that occur. The City will replace approximately 8,127 LF of water line as well as replace valves, hydrants and services that correlate with these sections of the water distribution system. These improvements will enhance the City's ability to provide adequate and quality potable water to its residents.
