The Arcata Medical Cannabis Regulatory System establish a Medical Marijuana Innovation Zone (:MMIZ) Combining Zone for the production of medical marijuana (mmj) products in an existing industrial zoning district. Specific land use zoning and development standards for mmj land uses apply in the :MMIZ. A non-planning "Commercial Cannabis Activity Permit", with specific local regulatory requirements e.g. fees, zoning compliance, building and fire standards, odor control, energy efficiency standards, solid waste sustainability, security, and inventory tracking.
