Document Description
On September 12, 2023, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, acting as the governing body of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, approved a construction contract change order to (1) address a change in sediment handling that would increase the volume to be exported by a worst-case estimate of approximately 211,000 cubic yards over the volume addressed in the MND adopted on March 9, 2021 and require an estimated 41 additional working days and (2) address modifications to the newly installed perimeter fencing requested by the City of Los Angeles. Planned fence modifications include elimination of fence spears and application of a fresh paint finish over the galvanized coating, and possible pillars at the site entrances. Regarding the additional sediment export, daily on-site construction activity and the total daily and hourly truck trips to the designated sediment disposal sites would not change from the information disclosed and analyzed in the adopted MND. Furthermore, the additional 41 working days would be within the 36-month maximum constriction period analyzed in the adopted MND.
