Document Description
The primary purpose of this project is to supply sufficient, potable water to the Lower Ranch of Hollister Hills SVRA from the existing water storage facility located the Upper Ranch of the park. The existing waterline is undersized for present and future operational needs. Current conditions have the existing waterline running off-trail through some vegetated areas and through an historic walnut orchard where it connects to the Lower Ranch waterlines. The proposed new waterline would be installed within the footprint of existing park roads and along Cienega Road. With the new laying of the waterline impacts to park resources from potential maintenance activities would be minimalized. Impacts to vegetation will be minimal as the project will take place in previously disturbed areas and active park roads. Light brush trimming and select coyote brush removal will be needed to allow sufficient room for the project activities. Additionally, a few sections of fence will be removed and reinstalled following the completion of the line. All disturbed areas will be restored, seeded, and covered to prevent erosion.
