Document Description
This is a forest restoration project minor alterations to land and vegetation. California State Parks is requesting $500,000 in funding from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy Grant Program for site improvement/restoration activities on approximately 230 acres. The project will be implemented by hand crews using chainsaws, loppers, and other hand tools as requried to conduct the following site improvement/restoration activities: thinning to reduce ladder and canopy fuels and to reduce overall stand density, reduce surface woody debris, leave shrubs for cover and forage purposes in wildlife corridors, retain quality downdned logs and snags for wildlife habitat, and piling and burning.
