Document Description
The OHMVR Division proposes to award grant funds to the Cleveland National Forest for the decommissioning of approx. 64 miles of unauthorized routes in the Descanso Ranger District and the Trabuco Ranger District. Restoration would be accomplished through a variety of options, including: extreme surface roughening, using an excavator to break up compacted soils, increase infiltration, and disperse runoff; recontouring slopes; spreading groundcover, such as rock, organic matter, or mulch; spreading native seed; and installing pipe-rail barriers to prevent re-entry. Signage would be installed at each site to direct riders to authorized areas for vehicle use.
