Document Description
The proposed project consists of removing trees and woody brush in riparian and non-riparian areas in select areas along the 37.5 miles of the GL 300A and GL 300B ROW, comprising approximately 18.17 acres of vegetation removal. Temporary work and staging areas comprise an additional 5.5 acres; vegetation will not be removed in these areas, except where these areas overlap with vegetation removal work areas. PG&E proposes to remove all trees within approximately 10 ft of the outer edge of the pipe and all other woody vegetation within 5 ft of the outer edge of the pipeline. Vegetation determined to be a hazard outside of the Pipe and Border Zones up to 14 ft from the edge of the pipeline may also be removed. Brush and tree species that are proposed for removal include, but are not limited to, blue oak, coast live oak, willow, California buckeye, foothill pine, juniper, coyote brush, and mule fat. The selective removal of trees and brush would not result in the creation of bare ground surface. The project would result in impacts to jurisdictional stream features, pursuant to fish and game code section 1600 et seq. and therefore, a streambed alteration agreement in necessary for the project.
