Pursuant to state law and University of California Procedures for implementation of CEQA, the proposed project is categorically exempt under Article 19, Section 15301, Class 1. Existing Facilities and Section 15306, Information Collection. The project is exempt because it consists of minor alterations to an existing facility and data collection, experimental management, and resource evaluation as part of a study leading to a yet approved public agency action. Furthermore, per CEQA Section 15300.2, none of the exceptions to a Categorical Exemption would apply.
