Document Description
The Project will fund designing and building both bench scale and lab scale mixed alcohol synthesis (MAS) catalyst systems to produce large chain alcohols inside the Woodland Biomass Research Center, home to a pre-commercial, pilot-scale, 1 MW thermal Fast Internally Circulating Fluidized Bed (FICFB) gasification system with a feed-rate capacity of 6 tons per day. These steps intend to validate a process to convert gasifier syngas from woody biomass residue to ethanol for blending with gasoline for transportation fuel.
