- Document Description
- CDFW has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0161-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Amador County as represented by Aaron Brusatori. The project consists of removing an replacing the existing structurally deficient and obsolete Fiddletown Road Bridge. The proposed project consists of replacing the existing Fiddletown Road Bridge over the North Fork Dry Crek with a new cast-in-place concrete slab bridge. This new bridge would be located on teh existing alignment with geometric enhancements that meet County roadway standards. The new bridge would be 40 feet long by 38 feet wide with two travel lanes and a roadway width fo 22 feet. The new foundation and abutments would be constructed outside the ordinary high watermark (OHWM) of North Fork Dry Creek. Extending the length of the new bridge allows for it to be constructed outside of the creek, which will reduce further impacts to the channel. The use of precast concrete units for the superstructure will also eliminate the need for false work in the creek. A temporary culvert detour will be placed north of and directly adjacent to the existing bridge. The detour would include placing a pipe culvert in the creek which will be covered with clean gravel fill to a height above the OHWM. Temporary dewatering activities may be required to facilitate the placement of the pipe culvert and fill. If required, a dewatering would be prepared and implemented that includes best management practices to protect the creek. The existing bridge would be demolished, removed from the project area as construction progresses, and properly disposed of. Impacts resulting from the current project includes temporary impacts to 0.07 acre of riverine habitat from dewatering, construction access, detour, and existing bridge demolition. Approx. 0.05 acres of riparian habitat will be permanently impacted through the widening of Fiddletown Road to accommodate the wider bridge. The permanent loss of 0.05 acres of riparian habitat will be compensated through an onsite revegetation plan.
