- Document Description
- Project would update the existing gaseous chlorine based water treatment system at the existing George Kristoff Water Treatment Plant (GKWTP). The existing treatment system would be replaced with a liquid sodium hypochlorite treatment system. Storage and use of chlorine gas under the existing system is subject to regulation by the Dept. of Homeland Security, whereas the updated system would not be subject to compliance requirements therein. The proposed facilities would be located entirely within the existing footprint of the existing GKWTP, and would include decommissioning of the existing system, and installation of limited new facilities needed to support he proposed sodium hypochlorite system.
