Document Description
Pursuant to Chapter 6.8 of the Health and Safety Code, the project consists of the DTSC's approval of a remedial action plan for the Legacy High School, Operable Unit 3, also known as South Region High School No. 9, to address site-wide shallow groundwater contamination at the site. The project includes the following remedial activities:
- excavation using large diameter augers and placement of in-situ chemical reduction agents (parcels 9-11);
- in-situ chemical oxidation, soil vapor extraction, and long term monitoring (parcel 20); and
- monitoring of natural attenuation and in-situ chemical reduction pilot study (parcels 22 and 27).
Upon completion of the remedial activities, a remedial action completion report will be submitted to DTSC for review and approval. If the DTSC determines that the impacted areas have been addressed and the contamination levels are below the state max contaminant levels, the DTSC will issue a "no further action" letter to the District.
