Document Description
City intends to adopt a new Economic Development Element (EDE) of the General Plan as a general plan amendment. Additional amendments to existing text, tables, and graphics in the existing General Plan are proposed to account for the content of the new EDE. The EDE includes economic opportunity areas that are outside of the City's SOI and one within the city limits. New development capacity is proposed within these areas as a basis to meet the projected demand for new jobs at General Plan buildout. Total new building capacity is estimated 5,255,959 sf, comprised of industrial, retail, and business park uses. Development of these areas as well as development of new infrastructure to support that development will be assessed for environmental impacts on a program EIR.
