Document Description
The project consists of annually dredging foreign silt from upstream areas that builds up in various areas of the lake for the purpose of navigational safety, water storage capacity, protection of property, invasive species control, and vector control. These dredging operations to remove foreign silt build up need to be performed on an 8-year, rotating schedule around the entire lake.
Arrowhead Lake Association (ALA) obtained an agreement with the Regional Water Quality Control Board the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, and the U.S. army Corps of Engineers that allows ALA to perform routine maintenance activities in Burnt Mill Bay, Orchard Bay, North Bay, Paradise Bay, Rainbow Bay, Village Cove, and Emerald Bay within the Lake Arrowhead Reservoir. This agreement expires December 14, 2019. ALA intends to perform similar routine maintenance activities in other areas of the lake that are not covered by the agreement. In an effort to streamline future work,, ALA is proposing to obtain master, long-term permits from State and Federal regulatory agencies to allow it to conduct is maintenance activities in all areas of the lake.
