Document Description
Eastern Municipal Water District's (Eastern) Alessandro Recycled Water Storage Ponds facility is located at the intersection of Olmstead Ave and New York Ave in an unincorporated area of Riverside County in the city of San Jacinto, CA. Recycled water facilities at this site include three distribution storage ponds with a combined capacity of about 55 million gallons per minute. Eastern proposes the Alessandro Recycled Water Storage Ponds Optimization Project to enhance the integrated operation of the facility. The project would maximize operational storage enhance operation of the existing pump station. Due to weather conditions, significant erosion on the side slopes of the ponds has become a threat to the stability of the slope as well as the stability of the pump station. The project would implement erosion protection measures for the side slopes of the ponds, regrade the ponds, and adjust pipelines and appurtenances to grade. Additionally, the project would implement electrical improvements that include SCADA controlled motor operated valves, thus adding safety features that would ensure potential high water levels would note exceed the berm height.
