Document Description
Approval of a Removal Action Workplan (RAW) by the DTSC that would authorize activities related to the mitigation of soil vapors composed of various volatile organic compounds; and total petroleum hydrocarbons and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons located within the stockpile of crushed concrete and asphalt. Activities to be conducted pursuant to the approved RAW include: - on site relocation and burial of stockpiles of crushed concrete and asphalt throughout the residential parcel within 5-10 ft below the ground surface, above the historic high ground water level; - placement of at least 5 ft of clean soil material above the buried material; - installation of soil vapor barriers with passive venting beneath all of the residential structures, to prevent migration of soil vapor gases; - excavation and disposal of impacted soil, if found during grading activities; - recording a land use covenant ensuring that vapor barriers are operated and maintained and that future uses of the property are consistent with the operation and maintenance of the vapor barriers; and - recording a land use covenant ensuring that the clean soil cover is operated and maintained and that future uses of the property are consistent with the operation and maintenance of the clean soil cover.
