- Caltrans proposes to upgrade aged/deficient features of the north and south bound I-5 Klamath River Bridge and Separation Bridge Nos. 02-0134L and 02-0134R and the Klamath River Road Bridges (Nos. 02-0133L and 02-0133R). The purpose of this project is to provide long-term passage, improve safety, reduce maintenance costs, and provide structurally sound bridges. Work will include replacement of railing and approach/departure slabs, as well as widening of the existing bridges. Additional work on the Klamath River Road bridges will include strengthening the load rating with post-tension tendons at girders. This project is within the Caltrans ROW and will involve state and federal funding.
