Document Description
Camp Wilmont Sweeney is a minimum security residential program for adolescent males ranging in age from 15 to 18 who have been adjudicated by the Juvenile Court for minor non-violent criminal offenses and assigned to the Camp for a 6 to 12 month placement. The existing Camp was constructed in the late 1950s and has been in operation since that times. Needs studies conducted in 2007 - 2008 recommended replacement of the existing facilities with new buildings designed to better serve the rehabilitation goals of the County Probation Department. Initial funding commitments for the Project were awarded in 2009 by the CA Board of State and Community Corrections under SB 81 (2007), the "Juvenile Justice Realignment" bill.
