The proposed site is located at 2400 Fairmont Drive, in unincorporated Alameda County, near the municipal boundary of the City of San Leandro, CA. The project proposes to demolish the existing Camp Sweeney buildings and relocate the project on a different part of the County-owned property. The new facility would contain seven new buildings to provide housing, education, and recreation to both male and female adjudicated youth.
