Document Description
The Housing Element is a comprehensive statement by San Joaquin County of its current and future needs and proposed actions to facilitate the provision of housing to meet those needs for persons at all income levels. State Housing Element Law (Government Code Section 65580 (et. seq.)) mandates that local governments must adequately plan to meet the existing and projected housing needs of all economic segments of the community. San Joaquin County last updated its Housing Element in 2010, which served a 7 1/2-year planning period from January 1, 2007, to June 30, 2014. The 2015 Housing Element is a comprehensive update of the 2010 Housing Element. The planning period for this Housing Element is December 31, 2015 to December 31, 2023. San Joaquin County is currently (2015) update its General Plan.
