Document Description
The proposed project is the adoption of a Climate Action Plan, a document that provides measures intended to reduce GHG emissions within the City. The CAP describes the 2008 baseline GHG emissions produced in Santa Ana and estimates business-as-usual emissions that could be expected in 2020 and 2035. GHG emissions were estimated for 2008, 2020, and 2035 for both community-wide and municipal operations. Overall, the goal of the CAP is to reduce Santa Ana's community wide GHG emissions by 15 percent below 2008 emission levels by the year 2020. In addition, Santa Ana has established a goal to reduce community-wide emissions by 30 percent below 2008 emission levels by the year 2035. For municipal operations emissions, the City has established goals of 30 percent reduction by 2020 and 40 percent reduction by 2035.
