Document Description
CDFW, acting as Lead Agency, has approved the Final Mitigated Negative Declaration (April 2016) for the Project. This proposed project involves replacement of approx. 88 miles of fiber optic cable and removal of out-of-service coaxial cable. Replacement activities consist of, in some instances, pulling the replacement cable into already existing conduit systems. In other sections of the route, new conduit will be installed, in to which the replacement cable will be placed. Finally, in the portion of the route where the existing out-of-service coaxial will be trenched out, the replacement conduit will be installed back into the same trench before closure. Underground cable "pull boxes" (vaults), marker poles, and buried marker ribbon will also be installed. Project activities include cable plowing, trenching, directional boring, road reconstruction, and other activities.
