Document Description
This project involves replacing the damaged modern plywood sheath that covers the roof and any affected shingles. Any replacement shingles will match the color of the existing shingles. The trim board, which based on its dimensions is probably not original historic fabric, will have to be replaced as will the flashing. Because the roof is supported by the plywood sheath, and the damage is to the tails of the roof boards, workers should attempt to repair the two damaged historic roof boards by gluing them back together. The damaged sections should be cut out and replaced with in kind materials only if the repair does not work. The new trim piece and flashing will be painted to match the rest of the building.
