NOE - Notice of Exemption
Project is the acquisition of an approx. 4-acre property in Santa Clara, California, which is developed with a 90,000-sf office building, to accommodate classrooms and offices for UCSC's Extension (UNEX) and Silicon Valley Initiatives (SVI) programs. These programs are currently located in leased space about 1.2-mile from the project site. As a precondition to the closing of the transaction, the seller will make alterations to the existing building to meet program and space needs specified by the University. The alterations will provide approx. 62,000 ASF / 90,000 GSF of classrooms, computer labs, administrative offices and conference spaces, collaboration spaces and an event space, and will include seismic and code upgrades required for the University's planned use. The improvements constructed by the seller will be entitled by the City of Santa Clara following City CEQA compliance.
