Document Description
CDCR will implement vegetation management at Chorro Reservoir, where CDCR treats water and provides basic maintenance for the potable water supply for CMC and adjacent Camp San Luis Obispo. Dense vegetation has grown in the area directly adjacent to the reservoir's spillway, measuring approximately less than 0.10 of an acre. A recent inspection by the Department of the Safety of Dams (DSOD) concluded that the dense vegetation in this area is an obstruction to the spillway, contributing to potential overstopping of the dam, a considerable operational safety concern. In response to DSOD's order, CDCR will remove this vegetation before the start of the 2015/2016 rainy season.
