Document Description
The proposed project includes two components: (1) the 2016 Greenway Master Plan, and (2) three specific projects within the Master Plan. The 2016 Greenway Master Plan substantially increases the Master Plan area, with a provision of the plan related to a reduction in flood hazards throughout the city by containing floodwaters within Greenway corridors to the greatest extent feasible. Actual construction activities on Yreka Creek include improvements in three areas of the creek identified as the Central Reach, North Reach and South Reach. The improvements to the floodway would be accomplished through the widening of the creek channel and the lowering of the existing area adjacent to the creek, and by providing overflow channels. Additionally, trails and greenways will be developed.
