Document Description
The project consists of zone reclassification for 25 properties within the City of El Cajon representing 13.5 acres. The project purpose is to make the zoning consistency with the planned land use designations in the General Plan. The 2013 Housing Element identified the need to rezone the properties consistent with existing General Plan land use designation in order to accommodate additional housing units needed for compliance with the City's Regional Housing Needs Allocation. No physical development is currently proposed. However, the rezoning action has the potential to result in an additional 199 residential units. All sites proposed for rezoning are located in urbanized areas and already developed or vacant and disturbed.
