Document Description
Statistically rigorous population models indicate a relatively highprobability that the Parker Meadows greater sage-grouse subpopulation will become extinct within the next 5 years. Therefore, beginning in late March 2016, the CAlifonria Department of Fish and Wildlife will capture up to 25 adult greater sage-grouse (17 famales and 8 males) from local source populations in the Bodie Hills and Long Valley and then translocate them directly on to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power land at Parker Meadows. Sage-grouse will be captured using established night spotlighting techniques and fitted with radio-collars.
