Document Description
DGS proposes to add handrails in the Gallery of the Assembly and Senate Committee Hearing Rooms to comply with the California Building Code (Code) requirement for aisle stairs handrails. The Galleries of the Committee Rooms are used by the public when there is insufficient seating on the Floor of the Committee Rooms are used by the public when there is insufficient seating on the Floor of the Committee Rooms. Providing handrails will be safer for the public using the stairs. DGS will also add contrasting stripes on the carpeted stair treads.
