Document Description
The County of Ventura has proposed a project to replace approx. 1780 sq. ft. of turf grass with an Ocean Friendly Garden consisting of drought tolerant native or climate appropriate plants. The project includes removing existing turf grass, minor grading to retain stormwater, soil preparation and planting. Project benefits include infiltration of stormwater runoff resulting in less water usage required for irrigation and also improvement of receiving water quality by removing various pollutants that are typically present in the runoff from the existing adjacent impervious surface areas. No trees will be removed as a part of this project. All proposed work would occur within the existing County Government Center property.
