FYI FONSI
Coast Guard Island is a 71 acre manmade island in the Oakland Estuary of San Francisco Bay between Oakland and Alameda, and adjacent to the federally authorized Brooklyn Basin South Channel. The Boat Basin would be deepened from -29 feet mean lower low water _MLLW) to -35 feet MLLW, plus 2 feet of overdepth. Approximately 90,000 cubic yards would be dredged from the Boat Basin. No overflow or decant water would be discharged from any barge, with the exception of spillage incidental to dredging operations. Dredging would not occur in areas with submerged aquatic vegetation. Dredging would be done during the approved window for the project area: June 1 through November 30.
