Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2015-0260-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project Applicant, Sacramento County. The proposed project will replace the existing bridge with a two-span, conventional concrete slab structure approx. 66 feet long and 40 feet wide and incorporate 6 foot shoulders intended to function as future multi-purpose class II bike lanes. In addition to the bridge replacement, pavement rehabilitation and tapered widening of the road approaches to the north and south of the creek will occur to conform to the specifications and increased width of the new bridge. Pavement rehabilitation work will include removal of the existing pavement, and installation of metal beam guardrail and bridge railings. The total length of the project is expected to be approx. 400 feet. The bridge will have a single pier with seven 16 inch diameter column pile and concrete diaphragm abutments. The single pier of the new structure will be located in the channel. The replacement foundations for the pier and new bridge abutments will be cast in drilled hole. Installation of pile foundations will consist of drilling holes, installing rebar cages, and pouring concrete. Rock slope protection will be placed around both abutments for channel slope protection and to prevent scour. Bioengineering techniques, such as coir wrapped embankments with willow plantings, will be used in conjunction with placement of RSP for bank stabilization. Where structural stabilization measures are necessary, the design of the structures will include overplanting with vegetation to create a natural appearance.
