Document Description
The proposed project is for restoration of approximately 8.55 acres, including restoring 2.21 acres of coastal sage scrub, and restoring 2.55 acres of native grassland. In addition, 0.56 acres of disturbed eucalyptus woodland will be allowed to naturally regenerate from shoots of stumps and seeds of surrounding trees and a mix of erosion control, weed removal and limited planting over 3.23 acres is proposed to account for habitat value lost as result of removal of 3.01 acres of non-native annual grassland. The restoration plan includes post-planting maintenance activities, such as irrigation, weed removal, and a 5-year monitoring program. It requires remedial actions, if necessary, to ensure that the project meets specific performance standards. Existing surfaced and unsurfaced roads provide access to and within the project site. Implementing the restoration plan will not require any tree removal, grading, utilities, or other development.
