Document Description
The EA analyzes a no action and three action alternatives to protect the Calnev Pipeline, two underground pipelines that cross Soda Lake playa in Mojave National Preserve. The Calnev Pipeline transports gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel from Compton, CA to Las Vegas, NV and points in between. Calnev proposes to install a cathodic protection system to prevent the pipelines from corroding and releasing hazardous liquids into the environment. Soda Lake was designated wilderness under the Wilderness Act by the 1994 California Desert Protection Act. Wilderness impacts are addressed in the EA.
