Document Description
The Dept. of General Services will modify and make repairs to the Secretary of State Building Improve the accessibility and functionality for compliance with the ADA and CA Building Code. Work will install, replace and/or modify signage, elevator call panels, wiring, and buttons, power assist operators, balancing door hardware; install side low railings at existing drinking fountains; replace fluorescent lighting with LED lighting in the elevator lobbies; add material to the space between pavers in the courtyard; remove and reinstall exterior entrance pavers to minimize cross slopes; re-stripe parking and access aisles for compliance; remove and replace existing outdoor ramps; place new compliant mats at entrances; and install 8 architectural features to the east and west sides of the building to eliminate protruding object hazards.
