The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) has entered into an agreement to purchase 12,782.20 acres of irrigated farmland from Verbena, LLC. The property is located in the Palo Verde Valley in Riverside and Imperial counties. In accordance with the agreement, these lands will remain in their current agricultural use subject to existing agreements after the transfer of ownership, and the agreement does not anticipate any change in land use or agricultural operations.
