Document Description
The proposed project is the 4th Annual South Bayfront Powwow, which will take place at Marina View Park in Chula Vista on Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2, 2015. The District will provide sponsorship in the form of District funding for the vent, a traditional Native American gathering with dance and ceremony that will be free to the public. The event will feature traditional Native American music, dance, arts and crafts, and food. The purpose of the event is to create a connection to the historic past of San Diego Bay and its local diversity, highlighting the region's Native American heritage. The event has an expected attendance of approx. 2,800 people. Public parking will be available in the empty lot next to Marina View Park and along the surface streets in the vicinity. The event has reserved 28 spaces adjacent to Marina View Park at the open dirt field for event organizers.
