Document Description
Project is to improve access to persons with disabilities in the Junipero Serra Building for compliance with the 2010 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and 2013 CA Building Code (CBC). The Junipero Serra Building Access Barrier Removal Project includes restriping of basement and sub-basement parking stalls; additional bollards, truncated domes, parking signage, adding curbs and railings and raising an overhead pipe. Throughout the building: ramps will be adjusted and handrails will be extended; new hardware will be installed on doors and gates; a touchless actuator will be installed to the mean West 4th Street entrance; elevators will be equipped with new call buttons, signage and aluminum bars at the floor level to reduce gab in elevator opening; and wall signs will be replaced located near stairs, exits and restrooms.
