Document Description
In response to concerns over potential impacts of well stimulatin activities, such as hydraulic fracturing, and acid matrix stiumulation processes, on water resources, Governor Brown signed Senate Bill (SB4) in 2013. Added to the Water Code by SB4 section 10783 requires the State Water Resource Control Board to develop model criteria for groundwater monitoring in areas of oil and gas well stimulation (Model Criteria) to assess potential impacts of well stimulation activities on water resources. The Model Criteria outline the mtehods to be used in assessing, sampling, analytical testing, and reporting of water quality associated with oil and gas well stimulation activities.
